MESSAGE FROM THE REGIONAL CHAIRPERSON
Welcome to he World Physiotherapy Africa Region Conference website. Physiotherapy is moving forward in Africa; From Cape Town 2017 to Cotonou, Benin Republic in 2022. Indeed the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic delayed this conference from 2020 to 2022. In a few months, all African physiotherapy roads will lead to Benin for WCPT Africa 2020 Congress in 2022!! The Beninese Association of Physiotherapists (Association Beninoise des Kinesitherapeutes) will be hosting the 11th Biennial congress and meeting of the Africa region of World Physiotherapy from 27-29 October, 2022, in Cotonou, Benin Republic. The conference will be held over three days, and is expected to be graced by over 400 delegates from African countries and the rest of the world in a Hybrid format.
The theme of the congress is "Enhancing Quality Physiotherapy Services for Sustainable Development in Africa: The Role of Training, Practice, Research and Governance". The congress is a crucial forum for physiotherapists from the Africa continent and the rest of the world to share current scientific research findings and new intervention measures applicable to physiotherapy. The congress will additionally enable participants to form strong collaborative networks and partnerships, which will assist in moving physiotherapy forward on the African continent in the 21st century. WCPT Africa and the Beninese Association of Physiotherapists (Association Beninoise des Kinesitherapeutes) looks forward to welcoming you all to Cotonou in 2022!!
