MESSAGE FROM THE REGIONAL CHAIRPERSON
Welcome to he WCPT Africa website. Physiotherapy is moving forward in Africa; From West (Ghana 2010) to East (Kenya 2012). In less than a year, all African physiotherapy roads will lead to Kenya for WCPT A 2012!! The Kenya society of Physiotherapists (KSP) will be hosting the 9th Biennial congress and meeting of the Africa region OF THE World Confederation for Physical Therapy (WCPT-Africa) from 6 - 9 June 2012 in Nairobi - Kenya. The conference will be held at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre Nairobi over four days, and is expected to be graced by over 400 delegates from African countries and the rest of the world.
The theme of the congress is “Moving Physiotherapy Forward in Africa” with a subtheme – ‘the burden of chronic modern non communicable diseases’. The congress is a crucial forum for physiotherapists from the Africa continent and the rest of the world to share current scientific research findings and new intervention measures applicable to physiotherapy. The congress will additionally enable participants to form strong collaborative networks and partnerships, which will assist in moving physiotherapy forward on the African continent in the 21st century. WCPT Africa and the KSP looks forward to welcoming you all to Kenya in 2012!!
