Abstract
Introduction: The quality of life of hemodialysis patients is affected by fatigability due to renal failure. Physiotherapy would have a significant contribution to improving the quality of life of these patients
Objective: To show the importance of physiotherapy in the management of hemodialysis patients.
Methods: This is a prospective study from May 27 to July 05, 2019 at the University Hospital-Sylvanus Olympio in the Nephrology Unit Hemodialysis Unit. The statistical analysis was performed using Excel 2007-2013 software.
Results: A total of 10 (ten) patients were included in this study. The average age was 44.6 years, with extremes of 32 and 66 years. The sex ratio was 0.42. The main etiologies were high blood pressure (hypertension) in 50%, glomerular nephropathy 20%, chronic interstitial nephropathy 10% and nephropathies indeterminate 20%. After 10 sessions of functional rehabilitation in the room we have established a final report. Significant reduction in pain, from 7/10 to 5/10; 5/10 to 3/10; 8/10 to 4/10; 6/10 to 5/10 according to the EVA. The analysis of the achieved muscle balance shows changes perceptible in all patients is a gain of 01 to 2 points according to the rating of DANIELS and WORTHINGHAM. According to the 6-minute walk test, 3 patients who had stopped initially had no more, and a gain of 10 to 30 meters was abtenu.
Discussion: The reduced number of patients, duration of management and non-consideration of blood and biological balance are constituents of the limit of labor
Conclusion: The contribution of physiotherapy is significant in improving the quality of life of patients. Combining physiotherapy, permanently in dialysis patients would be a benefit.
