Abstract

BACKGROUND

The severe disability caused by intellectual disability, neurosensory and / or functional impairment related to cerebral palsy seriously compromises the educational and social future of children. Studies have led to the identification of failure factors in medical treatment or rehabilitation.

METHODOLOGY

An approach based on surveys in the form of questionnaires, by the preparation of cards. Identifying elements or elements of information include the place of residence, the distance between the care facility and the patient's home, the parents' income, the tariff cost of each rehabilitation session, the cost of transportation for each displacement, age, sex, etc., identifying the causes of the disease

RESULTS

Between 2006 and 2015, studies were conducted. The results showed that 85% of patients were lost to follow-up after less than one year of medical follow-up, due to direct and indirect costs of care.

There are also certain beliefs and customs at the sociocultural level. Some patients did not respect the appointments for the re-education sessions, because they do not have the ticket of transport. . Parents who are discouraged stop treatment because they can not see the immediate results

Training resident parents in difficult areas of access to rehabilitation techniques and the involvement of other health workers (midwifery nurses) has helped to decentralize care.

This has significantly reduced costs and processing costs. This has promoted continuity of care and regular monitoring of patients. An evaluation system was established between all actors (doctors, physiotherapists, nurses, parents, psychotherapists, etc.). Talks are held in the villages to raise public awareness and fight against the inevitability and stigmatization.
